1. Acceptance of terms

By using Mandarin Monkey, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

2. Our service

Mandarin Monkey connects students with Taiwanese Mandarin teachers for 1-to-1 online lessons. We facilitate bookings, payments, and lesson management but are not party to the individual teaching relationship.

3. Free trial lesson

• Each student is entitled to one free 30-minute trial lesson
• The free trial is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for credit
• We reserve the right to withdraw the free trial offer at any time

4. Cancellation and rescheduling

• Lessons may be rescheduled or cancelled more than 48 hours before the start time
• Credits are returned for cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance
• Cancellations within 48 hours of the lesson will forfeit the lesson credit
• No-shows are treated as completed lessons and are non-refundable

5. Payments and refunds

• Lesson packages are paid in advance via Stripe
• Refunds are at Mandarin Monkey's discretion and handled on a case-by-case basis
• Lesson credits expire 90 days after purchase unless otherwise stated

6. Code of conduct

All users — students and teachers — must treat each other with respect. Abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour may result in account suspension.

7. Intellectual property

All content on the Mandarin Monkey platform, including course materials, is owned by Mandarin Monkey or its teachers. You may not reproduce or distribute content without permission.

8. Limitation of liability

Mandarin Monkey is a booking platform. We are not liable for the quality or outcome of individual lessons. We make no guarantee of language learning outcomes.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
